Overall, this place was excellent!
Very private and quiet location on the side of the hill with views across the valley. We had both houses which suited us very well, sticking the older kids in one house and having the other to ourselves with the quieter, younger kids. There are three outdoor dining areas - we mostly used the larger one in the middle with a vast table which also served us well for board games and whatnot. The pool was perfect and well used at all times of day, and set in a small garden and patio area between the two houses. All bathrooms clean, tidy and fully functional. My only gripe with the houses was that the kitchens were not brilliantly equipped, and one of them had very little worktop space. The wifi seemed to be fine, and was not a cause of concern from any of the teenagers with us. There was a very small TV in each of the houses, but we used neither, preferring to eat and drink outside.
The location is really good, having had a few trickier spots over the years, we wanted to be within striking distance of civilisation for thirsty teenagers. The village, Montecatini Alto, is a 20 minute walk up a fairly steep road, or you can be sneaky and take the 10 minute steeper route up the footpath behind the house (marked with red and white walking route sign). Coming back from one of the many restaurants in the village is a lot easier - just roll down the hill on a belly full of pizza. Also, as an added bonus, there is the funicular railway that drops down in Montecatini Terme, and from there, the centre of town and all its bounties are ten minutes walk away - a bit of an adventure from the house, but you have to burn off that pasta and wine somehow.
Tl;dr - totally worth it, and so much to do around here if inclined.
