Excellent 5 /5We have had a magnificent time with our stay at the Castle at Montegugoni . We rented one of the villas inside the castle for the month and had 4 of our children come and visit witn us for a week . The staff were lovely and very helpful . The restaurant on site was so handy for meals and very accommodating for when our family were there. The country side is beautiful and surroundings villages are very accessible from the castle with your car . There is plenty of information given to you by staff for all surrounding villages . It is only about 29 km from Florence and we made at least 8 visits there . We made trips from there to Rome , Assisi ,Cinque Terre, Pisa , San Giminano , Seina,and Arezzo . A lovely winery up the road from the Castle is fascinating and one of the most prestigious Italian wine makers Frescobaldi Family . I have no hesitation in recommending Castle Di Montegufoin to fellow travellers.
