This is a stunning place. Extraordinary views, amazing wildlife (the garden was FULL of fireflies), beautifully decorated and very comfortable. It takes a bit of finding - the road up the mountain is steep and wiggly - but the view across the valley is worth it. The housekeeper, Nicoletta, is great. We were greeted by vases of fresh flowers and bunches of herbs and she made us feel welcome and looked after. The pool is saline filtered, so no nasty chemicals and the garden is very pretty. Beds are comfy and amenities all work well. Highly recommended.
Podere Pievina is a beautiful property in an ideal location for those who want to experience life in Tuscany. The villa has been renovated and decorated to celebrate and maintain the character of this 18th century farmhouse while also providing very comfortable and generously appointed accommodations. The week spent at Podere Pievina was very relaxing and is an ideal spot for those traveling with children. The highlights included cooking homemade pasta with the owners as well as time spent getting to know the two horses that call Podere Pievina home. The graciousness, generosity and kindness of our hosts made the experience that much more amazing.
No sign at the road. The peoplle there are not in formed and have no documentation available abour the way to the apartment. The apartment on the first floor has no balcony during the day (to much sun0, the apartment is good, but dark during day time, no easy chairs to dit in in the kitchen. Homely, spacious, clean and comfortable apartment with hosts who were very welcoming. The pastries left on our patio on the first morning were very welcome, and delicious. The view from the property, up and down the valley, is stunning, the swimming pool was great, and there was even a calf born in the barn next to our apartment while we were there. You cannot get a more authentic farm stay than that! It's an easy train ride to Florence. We will definitely be going back.
We stayed in the villa for four weeks during june 2014. We had a lovely time and the place looks actually better live than in pictures. We had complete privacy during our stay because there isn't any neighbors around. In addition this we would like to thank Anna and the family for their hospitality during our stay and discretion when operating daily tasks in the area. We were travelling with 4 adults, one child and one infant. We had two group of friends visiting (one adult and three children and three adults) and the place suited for both groups. Kitchen is well-equipped and the pool is excellent for swimming. Thank you. Hope to see you again.
3 minutes drive from town. Beautiful and very private setting. Good sized pool. Helpful owner. Would definitely go back. The 3 bedrooms are a good size and would comfortably sleep 6.
A very beautiful get away tucked away in the hills of Montaione. Stunning scenery. Both Luigi and Nada, the owners are extremely welcoming. We arrived with three kids in tow, ages ranging from 9 to 14 and their Granny. Each one of our group was delighted with our stay and found the accomodation more than satisfactory. The apartment was well equipped and traditional in style. Great care was given, all windows had netting to prevent the Mosquitos and flies from annoying us. On arrival we even found complimentary wine and olive oil which they produce themselves. Very nice! We would recommend this beautiful spot to anyone looking for a peaceful and quiet get away.
