Il Villaggiolo is an outstanding villa. It is perfectly equipped and well suited for large families. The property is divided into three separate sections so retains its privacy. The huge private gardens and pool are beautiful. There are plenty of tables and chairs, ideal for outdoor dining. The views from the villa are breathtaking, surrounded by fields of sunflowers. The villa owner Pietro and his family are so friendly, kind and helpful. Although they do not live on-site Pietro attended most days to either clean the pool, empty outdoor bins or tend to his bees from his nearby hives. He was accessible without being overbearing. The villa's location is quite remote, being about 10 to 15 minutes drive from the nearest large town. However, a small supermarket and patisserie are within a five minutes drive.
Like many Tuscan properties the villa does not have any air-conditioning, however there are plenty of fans in the property. A private winding driveway leads from the main road to the villa. Take care when entering the long driveway as the entrance way is narrow and located between a culvet. The biggest compliment we can give is that we would love to return to the villa and would recommend it unreservedly.
A wonderful experience - from being part of the town of Lequile, to the gorgeous paintings, artworks and manuscripts housed in this true palace to the relaxing spa pool and garden. A once in a lifetime privilege and pleasure!
Siamo stati nella Casa del Nonno la prima settimana di luglio 2023. Luogo incantevole, silenzioso, isolato, con un panorama splendido sulle colline adiacenti. Il mio scopo era riposarmi e praticamente non sono mai uscita dalla struttura, ma volendo si possono fare comode escursioni nella vicina Cortona o Arezzo. Il grande giardino è completamente recintato e il mio cane è stato libero ed in sicurezza; è ad uso esclusivo così come la piscina. Abbiamo trovato la casa fresca nonostante i 30 gradi. Molto areato e piacevole ho trovato lo spazio dove c'è il tavolo, subito davanti ad una delle entrate della casa, sia per i pasti che per leggere. La casa è su due piani quindi ci sono scale. E' distante dal paese e dai supermercati circa 25 minuti in auto, quindi bisogna organizzarsi per fare la spesa. La proprietaria è allo stesso tempo disponibile e discreta.
We were a large group of 16 (mostly family). This villa was perfect for us. Long hot days by the pool (which is a perfect size). Everyone had plenty of space in the many cool breezy rooms. Even though we were there in the middle of summer, it was easy to sleep without the A/C, but we had the option.
The kitchen was amazing, modern and had everything we needed.
Easy day trips to Rome, Assisi and Montipulciano. And lots of other beautiful villages.
We ate the most amazing meal at the restaurant that is onsite. Easily the most delicious meal we had while in Umbria/Tuscany.
Our hosts were so lovely and went out of their way to make sure we had a wonderful time.
I’d happily stay here again, and will be recommending this villa to everyone I know.
