Wunderschönes Haus und malerische Kulisse. Wir hatten eine tolle Zeit!
ABER: Leider war das Haus nicht sehr sauber bei Ankuft. Flecken am Waschbecken die sich einfach weg wischen ließen, dreckige Töpfe die wir sauber geschrubbt haben, staubige Gardinen oder Spinnenweben im Backofen...der Boden (Stein) in der unteren Wohnung hat bestimmt schon lange kein Wasser oder Schrubber gesehen (die Füße meiner Kinder waren nach paar Minuten schwarz), Handtücher waren erst zu wenig und dann haben wir leider total vergilbte bekommen. auch schade, dass die Fließen am Pool nicht sonderlich gepflegt waren. Solche Arbeiten könnte man einmal machen, bevor die Saison losgeht. Die Liegen am Pool sind zum Teil mit losen Schrauben und die Schirme passen leider nicht richtig in die Schirmständer (einer ist bei Wind auf die Liegen gekippt, zum Glück bin ich paar Sekunden vorher aufgestanden. )
Der Weg zum Haus ist steil, wir hatten einmal unwetter und der Weg war mit Schlamm voll. Obwohl es schon Stunden aufgehört hatte zu regnen hat sich niemand verantwortlich gefühlt den Weg frei zu machen. Wir haben dann mit Schaufel selbst Hand angelegt.
Alles in Allem können wir das Haus weiterempfehlen.
Beautiful house in a very secluded garden and area near Cortona. It was a perfect base for visiting Tuscany and Umbria, and we truly enjoyed the swimming pool and gardens. We will definitely book again.
An absolutely amazing small villa, brilliant generously-sized pool, wonderful situation with a most generous and friendly host Michele. You will not regret booking, it offers excellent value for money and we would be going back next year except it is so popular it is already booked.
Points of Note
The communal living space (lounge/dining room/kitchen) is cosy/intimate aka fairly small. Don’t anticipate whipping up any 5 course banquets for yourself. If you intend on eating out at restaurants a lot or dining on simple fare al fresco then this doesn't matter.
The villa is close (200m or less) to the nearby dual carriageway autostrada thus inevitably there is some road noise. This didn’t bother us that much, however if you are looking for absolute peace and tranquillity just be aware that when you sit outside you can hear (and from certain spots by the pool see) fast traffic almost all the time.
The Great Bits (of which there are many)
Actually almost too many to note.
The bedrooms are generous especially the master. The grounds of the villa are lovely, so well-kept, the best I’ve seen in a rental property. From the electric gates, to the car port for shade, to the solarium and covered outdoor eating areas, with BBQ, games area, on to the absolutely fabulous pool with recliners and steamer chairs and umbrellas everywhere for shade etc etc it is wonderful and maintained to the highest standards. There is also an ample supply of inflatables/toys for the pool, so don’t bother bringing your own.
The villa has a great situation sitting surprisingly high above the surrounding countryside and thus commanding some lovely views to the distance including Montepulciano.
Although not crazy hot when we stayed first week in June, the air conditioning in each living space works really well and is very discrete, which was a real bonus.
From start to finish Michele is a wonderful host, we were amazed by a constant stream of gifts and supplies that would appear magically on various mornings courtesy of our Food Fairy!! And also the magic pool that seemed to clean itself very early each morning – or maybe that was Michele too, whatever he’s great.
We cannot put into words how perfect Villa Agazzi is. The house has been renovated to a wonderful standard and lacks for nothing. The pool, with its views is breath-taking. The grounds, full of lavender, olive trees, animals and vegetable garden are just perfect. The icing on the cake, however, is Patrizia, so welcoming and friendly. We can highly recommend a pasta making lesson, we didn't stop laughing and the ragu was amazing. We would recommend Villa Agazzi to anyone.
We very much enjoyed the villa. It's a perfect family home with all the necessary comfort. The setting is stunning, olive trees, privacy, distance to Cortona and other sites. We can strongly recommend villa Sasso/Poggio.

This Villa is amazing and had everything you could possibly need. It is a wonderful location. Extremely close to two lovely restaurants and a small market that has all of the essentials. It is an easy walk into Camaiore which is a lovely little town. It is close to a beautiful winery, Tenuta Adamo, with a fantastic view. If day trips are planned a car would be advisable, but if your goal is relaxation, this is the perfect place.
