Absolutely everything we hoped and more. The house is well equipped and comfortable, insect screens at all windows for instance means we could get air flow and stay reasonably cool at night. The views from the pool are stunning in all directions, perfectly private and big enough to swim in, plus a decent sized sun-lounging area.
Our hosts were superb, very friendly, could not have been more helpful, met us in Certaldo centre to save us trying to find the property. Their local wine went down very well and our daily visit from Pepe the dog (very well behaved) was a little bonus. Certaldo doesn't attract hordes of tourists yet the old town is the equal of much better known towns. La Saletta restaurant in town was excellent, Pizzeria Maroni for the best pizzas and very reasonable, and for a real treat nearby, Osteria di Casa Chianti with superb food and view of the sunset.
Hire a car, book two weeks, travel around when you feel like it to the many places in easy reach, and swim and sunbathe and read when you don't - perfect.
This was a wonderful place to stay. Right in the heart of Tuscany. The pool was amazing . There was enough room for my family of 20. We did have to pay extra for air-conditioning, and it turned off for 7 hours during the day the house stayed cool. The only negative thing is that we had been gone and long time and needed to wash our clothes. The dryer did not work and we were told it would be fixed on Monday. It never got fixed. They gave us a $50. rebate. Hardly worth the convince of a dryer.
Almost perfect - but the introduction of air-conditioning into the bedrooms would be helpful to controlling mosquitoes and making the rooms more comforable

One of our best holidays! Have been all over the world, a few times in the Toscana over the past years. This house and ground looks identical as on the pictures. The owner family is so friendly and warmhearted. We enjoyed the fantastic pool and the view is outstanding! And so much too see and visit just surrounding.
Villa de Ranieri ist eine außergewöhnlich schöne Villa. Geschmackvoll, sauber und mit Stil eingerichtet. Jedes Zimmer ist anders eingerichtet und bietet den notwendigen Komfort. Der riesige Garten ist herrlich; riesige Zypressen geben dem Pool (12 Meter x 5 Meter) einen herrlichen Rahmen. Erwähnen möchte ich auch noch die Vermieterin Daniela: Nett, hilfreich bei allen Fragen (Tipps bei Restaurants oder Besichtigungswünschen) und immer über Telefon erreichbar wenn es eine Frage gibt. Toll auch das Service: Tägliche Reinigung der Zimmer und Zubereitung des Frühstücks sind nur ein paar Annehmlichkeiten. Jederzeit wieder. Juli 2019 Michael
(English translation - Villa de Ranieri is an exceptionally beautiful villa. Tasteful, clean and furnished with style. Each room is decorated differently and offers the necessary comfort. The huge garden is gorgeous; huge cypresses give the pool (12 m x 5 m) a magnificent setting. I would also like to mention the landlady Daniela: Nice, helpful with all questions (tips for restaurants or sightseeing) and always reachable by phone if there is a question. Loved our holiday here. Garden view is amazing and the house is clean with everything you need for a good holiday. The owners were so lovely and helpful and there to answer questions if we needed.
Fantastic place. Perfect to rent several apartments for larger groups. You need to have a car, but the closest super market is just a ten minute drive away. Very peaceful and beautiful. Host is very friendly and helpful.
